We waited three years for Wednesday to return to Netflix for season 2, and it did last month. Well, the first four episodes of the new season did -- on Wednesday, Aug 6, to be exact. Alas, in an effort to string out the gothic awesomeness of Netflix's record-breaking series, the streamer broke up the new run of episodes into two chunks, and that second half is nearly here.
If you've been keeping up to date with the Addams Family spin-off series, you'll know that the second season is darker in tone. Creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough previously said the show would go this route, with Millar telling EW that the season "definitely has some moments which are more straightforward horror."
If you ask me, Millar and Gough -- and let's not forget Tim Burton -- made the right creative choice here. And I can't wait to see where the next four episodes take us.
Returning alongside Jenna Ortega are Isaac Ordonez, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Myers and Victor Dorobantu's hand as Thing. Newcomers to the show include Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump, Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Nevermore Academy's new principal, and Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious teacher at Nevermore. Oh, and let's not forget the return of Gwendoline Christie as the evil Principal Weems.
