MMOexp Last Epoch: Upgrade only what matters
Crit Multi is guaranteed to Last Epoch gold transfer during a Tier 2+ slam because a guaranteed affix may be chosen. Spell Crit has a 1-in-3 chance.
Since the Crit Multi roll is mid-range and Forging Potential is low, a Rune of Refinement can be attempted after upgrading Spell Crit-if potential allows.
Spell Crit is raised to T5 without losing excessive potential. Good outcome.
A Refinement is attempted on Crit Multi, resulting in a roll to 55-solid. With remaining potential, Elemental Resistance is upgraded for free.
Next step: duplication.
Step 4: Duplicating the Item (Rune of Creation)
With potential nearly exhausted, a Rune of Creation is used to duplicate the item. This produces two identical catalysts, each ready for slamming. Two attempts instead of one-an enormous advantage.
Step 5: Performing the Slam in the Temporal Sanctum
To create a Legendary, the following are required:
A unique with Legendary Potential
A matching exalted item
A Temporal Sanctum key
Enter the dungeon through the key and run Tier 2 or higher. Tier 2+ allows the guaranteed-affix mechanic needed for controlled slams.
The unique item in question requires level 36, qualifying it for Tier 2, though Tier 4 is often chosen for fun or familiarity. After defeating Julra and realm-swapping to avoid mechanics, the Eternity Cache becomes accessible.
Deposit:
The unique
The exalted catalyst
Then choose the guaranteed affix: T7 Crit Multi.
The remaining 1-in-3 chance can land:
Spell Crit (best)
Elemental Res (acceptable)
Cold Res (worst)
In this attempt, Elemental Resistance is absorbed-not ideal, but still usable. The duplicate item provides another future opportunity. Having a lot of cheap Last Epoch gold will be a great help to you.
Additional Examples: Boots, Belts, and More
Boots with 1-LP remain simple: identify the single required affix-Movement Speed-add T1 MS, then use Havoc until the T7 lands correctly. Slam and finish.
Belts can be significantly harder. One example belt had no relevant affixes, making it a near-disaster. Even then, progress is possible:
Add the desired affixes
Seal unwanted ones
Shuffle tiers with Havoc
Use Chaos to replace undesirable patterns
Upgrade with Hope until potential runs out
Even poor bases can occasionally become excellent items when affixes are manipulated correctly.
Final Thoughts
Crafting and slamming Legendaries becomes much simpler when broken into steps:
Identify the important affixes
Apply correct affixes first
Use Havoc to move T7S into optimal positions
Upgrade only what matters for the available LP
Slam at Tier 2+ for guaranteed affix selection
