Roku's $3 Howdy Streaming Service Is Now on Prime Video

Amazon's Prime Video has just welcomed a new add-on subscription: the $3-per-month Roku streaming service, Howdy.

Roku first launched the commercial-free Howdy in August 2025. Initially accessible on Roku devices, the service is now available as a Prime Video add-on subscription in the US, joining the likes of Apple TV and ad-free Peacock. Prime members can choose to pay extra for add-on subscriptions like Howdy and watch more content directly through the Prime Video app. The addition marks the first expansion of Howdy beyond the Roku platform.

Per Roku, the Howdy streaming service is a place to find "iconic rom-coms, medical dramas, '90s comedy, feel-good classics," with thousands of titles and more than 10,000 hours of programming. Subscribers can watch select Roku originals and content from partners, including Disney, FilmRise, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures and Warner Bros. Discovery. Current titles on Howdy include Paddington, Sicario and Nurse Jackie.

Howdy is on the lower end of the streaming service price spectrum. In August, Roku CEO Anthony Wood said in a statement that it is "designed to complement, not compete with, premium services." Its addition to Prime Video could be an opportunity to browse the service's content offerings and see if it makes sense for you.
