How to Easily Kill a Bastion in ARC Raiders BluePrints

In the unforgiving world of Arc Raiders, few enemies strike fear into the hearts of raiders like the Bastion. This towering, heavily armored Arc machine patrols resource-rich areas, wielding a devastating gatling gun that can turn careless players into ARC Raiders BluePrints Swiss cheese. With 2050 HP and impenetrable front plating, it may seem unbeatable at first glance-but it's far from invincible.

Killing a Bastion requires more than brute force; it demands precision, tactical positioning, and knowledge of its weaknesses. Whether you're hunting it solo for Bastion Cells or tackling it with a squad, this guide will break down every step you need to take to take down this mobile fortress and claim its valuable loot.

  1. Know Your Enemy: Bastion Basics

Before you engage a Bastion, take a moment to understand its core traits. Classified as a critical-threat Arc enemy, it is a slow-moving "fortress on legs" designed to guard high-value resource deposits across all maps in Arc Raiders. Its most dangerous feature is its gatling gun, which it uses to unleash a torrent of bullets on unsuspecting raiders.

The Bastion's attack pattern is surprisingly predictable. When it detects a raider, it emits a loud screech as an audio cue, then fires its gatling gun for roughly three seconds at the last position it saw you. This delay is your greatest opportunity to reposition or strike back-ignore it, and you'll quickly find yourself overwhelmed.

You'll find Bastions in specific hotspots on every map. Common spawns include the Market Ruins in Buried City, the East of Water Treatment Control in Dam Battlegrounds, and the Southwest of the Launch Tower in Spaceport. They prefer open areas where they can sweep sightlines, so approach these zones with caution.

  1. Target the Weak Points: Where to Aim

The Bastion's greatest flaw is its exposed weak points-shoot anywhere else, and you'll waste ammo on its heavy armor. The two critical areas to focus on are its yellow leg joints and rear plate, both of which bypass its armor and deal massive damage.

The yellow knee joints on its legs are the easiest weak points to hit, especially from a distance. Hitting these joints not only deals direct damage but also staggers the Bastion, slowing its movement and creating a short window to reposition or attack its rear. Aim for the bright yellow kneecaps-they stand out even in dim environments.

The rear plate is the Bastion's true Achilles' heel. On its back, you'll find a yellow canister; destroying this canister stuns the Bastion and peels back its rear plate, exposing a barrel-like core with a 1.5x damage multiplier. Shots to this exposed core are the fastest way to drain its 2050 HP.

Avoid shooting the Bastion's front at all costs. Its front plating is heavily reinforced, and most small arms will barely scratch it-you'll only waste ammo and alert the enemy to your position.

  1. Perfect Your Loadout: Weapons and Gear for Success

Your loadout can make or break the fight against a Bastion. While any weapon can work if you hit weak points, certain tools are far more effective at melting its health and keeping you alive.

For weapons, prioritize Arc-killer guns like the Hull Cracker or Equalizer. These high-damage rifles excel at piercing the Bastion's weak points, with the Hull Cracker dealing 100 base damage per shot and massive splash damage to groups of weak points. If you don't have these, a sniper rifle works well for long-range precision shots on the leg joints and rear core.

Grenades and gadgets are equally important. Blaze grenades and Deadline mines are particularly effective-Deadline mines can nearly kill a Bastion in one hit if placed near its rear canister, while Blaze grenades deal sustained burn damage to weak points. EMP grenades are also useful for stunning the Bastion and interrupting its gatling gun fire.

Don't forget defensive gear. Equip a medium or heavy shield via an augment to block the Bastion's gatling gun bursts, and make sure your augment has safe pockets to secure the loot you'll get after the fight. A medpack is a must-even a single hit from the gatling gun can leave you critically injured.

  1. Combat Strategies: Solo vs. Squad Play

The way you fight a Bastion depends on whether you're playing solo or with a squad. Both approaches work, but they require different tactics to stay alive and deal maximum damage.

Solo play demands patience and hit-and-run tactics. Start by peeking from cover to make the Bastion see you-when it screeches, immediately move to the side or back behind cover to avoid its gatling gun burst. Use this three-second window to sprint around to its rear or fire at its leg joints. Repeat this loop, stunning it with leg shots and then focusing the rear core when it's vulnerable.

If you have a squad, coordination is key. Assign one player to cheap ARC Raiders Items frontline distraction-they'll draw the Bastion's fire with a shield, giving the rest of the team time to circle around to its rear. Have one player focus on the leg joints to stagger it, while another targets the rear canister and core. A third player can act as support, throwing grenades and reviving downed teammates.

No matter your playstyle, never stay in one place. The Bastion's slow pivot speed works to your advantage-keep moving, and it will struggle to track you. Use buildings, foliage, or terrain to break its line of sight and reposition for better shots.
