Another rumor is adding fuel to the fire that Samsung will introduce a fourth phone in its Galaxy S27 lineup in the form of a new Pro model. The latest rumor on Wednesday comes from South Korean tech site ETNews, which says the new model will sport a 6.47-inch OLED display and will serve as a smaller but more powerful option to the standard and the Plus models when they arrive next year.
The new model will reportedly not support the S Pen found on the Galaxy S Ultra phones but will otherwise share most of the same specifications.
The new handset would have a smaller display than the Plus model's, which typically runs around 6.7 inches. The move is similar to what both Apple and Google are doing with their Pro phones -- offering two size options. A smaller option for those who want a powerful phone but don't want a massive screen could be a big win for consumers, as not everyone wants a 7-inch phone in their pocket.
The introduction of the fourth Galaxy S27 model also mirrors Apple's current smartphone lineup, where the Galaxy S27 Pro will essentially be the slot the current iPhone Air is in.
Little else is known about the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro model, but it's rumored that it will receive the Privacy Display feature that first debuted on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
A representative from Samsung did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
