The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 lookalike is down to $329

Initially, I was going to tell you about a good deal happening on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, which is down from the $500 it’s sold at most of the year to $378 at multiple retailers. But there’s a better deal happening on a nearly identical portable camera, the Xtra Muse, which is $329 (roughly $100 off what it sold for three months ago). It’s not just some copycat; my colleague Sean Hollister’s report on the company is linked below, wherein he said the Muse “appears to be the same product in almost every palpable way,” though DJI won’t comment on its involvement with Xtra.

Regardless, you can save a good bit of change on the Muse right now at Amazon. It seems great for vlogging (Sean uses the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for recording Today I’m Toying with videos), or for any scenario where you want better footage than your smartphone can likely capture.

$329

This is the Muse’s lowest price yet, dropping from $380 over the past month.

At launch, the Muse couldn’t connect to Bluetooth mics, which meant that DJI’s own wireless mics were off the table. But as of a February firmware update, it can wirelessly connect to various mics, including DJI’s Mic 2, Mini Mini and the Mic 3, among others.

Other great Verge-approved deals

  • You can jump into Resident Evil Requiem on Steam at the lowest price we’ve seen so far. The title is selling for $55.99 at Steam during its summer sale, though Newegg has it for $10 less. You can checkout for $44.99 with the code 5DSUMMER, which is a savings of over 30 percent off the original cost. Requiem proves that the decades-old franchise is heading in a good direction, with a fun mix of first-person horror and callbacks to Resident Evil 4’s over-the-shoulder camera and action-filled gameplay. • Best Buy still has the lowest prices on Apple’s last-gen (but still great) iPad Air with the M3 processor. While retailers like Amazon and Walmart are either out of stock or selling refurbished tablets around $450 and up, Best Buy has the 128GB version with Wi-Fi and 5G support for $499. Sure, you could opt just for the version that offers just Wi-Fi connectivity at the same price, but it’s a better value to get the cellular option. As I mentioned last week when this deal surfaced, it’s a good and significantly cheaper alternative to the newer M4 Air that starts at $749 following Apple’s recent price hikes. The M3 processor is only slightly slower, it has 8GB of memory instead of 12GB, and its wireless radio is older, but it’s otherwise nearly identical.
  • Still on Apple, its wireless Magic Mouse is regularly available at Amazon for $69 (sometimes less, selling as low as $60 during Prime Day). That’s for the white version, though. The sleek black mouse typically has a higher price, but it’s also seeing a discount. You can get it at Amazon for $79.99, which is the lowest price on record. The last time this product dipped down in price was last September when it sold for $85. Since then, it has sold for $95 or higher. The latest Magic Mouse supports USB-C charging and includes a woven cable, but yes, you still need to flip it over to access its charging port.
