Iran has requested high-level talks with the Trump administration amid a fragile ceasefire this week, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed Monday, saying U.S. officials will head to Doha as President Donald Trump continues to press Tehran to accept a deal while warning that any renewed attacks will be met with force."As far as we're concerned, we're holding up our end of the ceasefire. Violence will be met with violence," Leavitt warned on "Fox & Friends.""There were attacks on commercial vessels that the United States of America, directed by the president, responded to, and that will continue to happen but we hope we don't see that. The president obviously wants to see the peace process play out, and the Iranians would be best to sign a good deal with the United States of America because the president has proven he's unafraid to use the might of our military."IRAN'S UNPRECEDENTED 'WHOLE-REGIME' DELEGATION AT US DEAL TALKS SIGNALS ONE GOAL: EXPERTLive from the foreground of the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., Leavitt detailed that special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are slated to head to Doha as the U.S. and Iran continue to discuss the memorandum of understanding (MOU).Leavitt said Americans can expect to see gas prices continue to "tumble" if the MOU plays out as expected. If Iran shows aggression, however, the country will continue to alienate itself."They'll prove themselves to be the pariah of the Middle East," she said.VANCE SAYS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION'S KEY OBJECTIVES HAVE BEEN REACHED IN US-IRAN DEAL"They've totally alienated themselves from their Gulf and Arab partners in the region. And the United States of America has the best and strongest military in the world. The president retains the right to use it."The breaking news comes after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) launchedairstrikes against Iranian targets, including Qeshm Island, on June 26 after a vessel was struck in the Strait of Hormuz. This prompted Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to retaliate by targeting U.S. military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain.Fox News' Emma Bussey contributed to this report.
